A new curriculum will be introduced for Mother Tongue Languages (MTL) for Primary 1 students next year and progressively rolled out to Primary 6 students in 2020.

What can parents and students expect from this new curriculum?

• A set of story characters depicted in relatable real-life situations
• Interactive activities such as role-play and situational dialogue
• Additional resources like videos, animations, digital interactive games, flash cards and board games

Building oral skills is one of the recommendations of the 2010 MTL Review Committee, which the new curriculum is aligned with. Besides, these additions to the new curriculum also aim to engage students in their learning and encourage them to use their Mother Tongue Language on a regular basis.
